We went on a hike along the Grand Ronde River (Washington side) and inched our way down next to the river. Some amazing sites there; little pools, beautiful boulders and this beautiful waterfall! You can tell how big it is -- George is standing on the side.
It has been raining so hard here all day and the weather service says rain (and maybe a little snow) the rest of the week. But, there is a new GIANT waterfall across the canyon that we're going to explore tomorrow and take some photos.

It's such great time to work on in-house stuff. Like sewing on my quilt blocks. Troy and surrounding area women are creating a community quilt that will be raffled off at Troy's July 4 celebration as a fundraiser for next year's July 4 festivities. Raffle tickets will go on sale at the resort cafe starting June 1. It will definitely be an heirloom to treasure!
Besides working on the blocks, today I made peanut butter cookies, George made caramel corn, and now I'm cooking a potroast with lots of veggies. Somebody sweet & very special asked for our peanut butter cookie recipe, so here it is:
Peanut Butter Cookies
Oven: 375 degrees
Oven: 375 degrees
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter (I use Adams crunchy)
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix sugars, peanut butter, butter and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Shape dough into balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in criss-cross pattern with fork. Bake until light brown 9 - 10 min. Cool 2 min. and remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 3 dozen cookies. I always make a double batch, you'll see why. Enjoy, Rene!
Stay tuned for more waterfall photos...
